Parish Staff
Pastor: Father Mark Vander Steeg
Father Mark Vander Steeg is Pastor of St. Mary’s. His home town is Green Bay Wisconsin. He is the youngest of ten children. He received his Bachelor’s in philosophy and psychology from Marquette University. Father Mark then studied for five years at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Italy with study at the Biblicum in Jerusalem. He received a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (S.T.L.) with a specialization in Biblical Theology. He is an associate member of the Catholic Biblical Association and teaches New Testament as adjunct faculty through Silver Lake College for the Diocesan Commissioned Ministry Leadership Formation Program.
Deacon: Rev. David DeYoung (Ext. 201)
Deacon David DeYoung is the deacon at St. Mary’s. He is the father of eight children. He has served as an ordained deacon for nearly twenty years and works closely with Father Mark. He and his wife along with Father Mark are responsible for the marriage preparation of our engaged couples. Deacon DeYoung preaches the Gospel at Mass every fourth Sunday of the month. He is profoundly pro-life and active in outreach to the unborn, their families and those who have suffered the pain of abortion. His wife Carol serves on the Pastoral Council and is also actively pro-life.
Pastoral Associate: Christine Wert (Ext. 210)
Chris is serving St. Mary’s in a variety of capacities. Chris is the director for our parish chapter of Elizabeth Ministry, she leads our Tuesday morning Women’s Bible Study, she is active with our Stewardship and Welcoming Committees, and she assists Father Mark and Deacon Dave with Pastoral Ministries. Chris edits our parish newsletter, prepares the Mass announcments each week and helps with the bulletin content and layout. Her passion is encouraging others to deepen their faith and relationship with Christ by helping them to grow in knowledge, faith and grace. Chris recently completed her master’s degree in Pastoral Theology through Ave Maria University. She is married with three children.
Principal: Debra Fuller (Ext. 233)
Mrs. Fuller began leading Saint Mary’s School with the 2007-2008 school year. She brings nearly 24 years of exceptional experience as an administrator and teacher. She had tremendous success in Ocala Florda helping to grow Blessed Trinity School from 200 to nearly 700 students before she was called upon to lead St. Mary’s School. She and her husband originally hail from Wisconsin. She is the mother of six children and loves her family and faith very much.
Director of Religious Education: Luke Gietman (Ext. 207)
Luke Gietman is a graduate of UW-Oshkosh with a BA in Criminal Justice and is now completing his Master’s in Theology from St. Norbert College. Luke is the head of our Faith Formation program. He most recently worked at St. Mary’s/St. Aloysius/St. Francis (now St. Katharine Drexel). Luke graduated from Freedom High School and lives in Oshkosh with his wife Mary. Luke enjoys sports and still plays baseball for the Freedom Mets. He also enjoys arguing matters of faith and wonders why Jehovah’s Witnesses never come back to his house.
Faith Formation Coordinator (K-8) and Youth Ministry Coordinator: Laura Johnson (Ext. 202)
Laura is a graduate of St. Norbert College with a degree in Religious Studies with an emphasis in Youth Ministry. She is originally from Green Bay and graduated from Notre Dame Academy. She has been involved in various services on behalf of the Church during the last five years. Laura enjoys hiking, running, McCafes from McDonalds and would sooner part from oxygen then be deprived of them.
Financial Assistant: Lisa VandenLangenberg (Ext. 211)
Lisa serves as a bookkeeper for St. Mary’s and is instrumental in keeping our finacial records in tip top shape.
Parish Secretary: Tammy Krueger (Ext. 205)
Tammy is a long time resident of Greenville and is here to help you with any need you may have. Among many other tasks, Tammy compiles the bulletin each week, tracks all sacramental records and tries to keep a tab on our pastor.
School Secretary: Yvonne Ziegler (Ext. 212)
Yvonne is a long time resident of Greenville, proud graduate of Saint Mary’s School and she has children in St. Mary’s. Many school questions may be answered by Mrs. Ziegler
Faith Formation Secretary: Sue Brockman (Ext. 208)
Faith Formation questions may be answered by Mrs. Brockman. Mrs. Brochman is a long time member of Saint Mary’s faith community and has herself led the religious education program in the past.
