Will you miss a session?
If you know that you will be missing a session or if you have already missed a session, do not fear!

First off, I encourage you to still do the assigned reading. Nothing can replace your time with the Word of God. Secondly, do your best to keep up with the questions and answers that help you to draw even more out of what you have read.  The DVD presentations can be checked out of the parish office so you can keep up at home.  Lastly, please don’t ever feel that you are not welcome if you miss a session, or two or three. You are always welcome and I truly believe that no matter how small a piece of the study you are able to attend, you will get something out of it.   God can work with every effort we make and your willingness to continue to attend will most certainly be fruitful!

Buying a Bible / Catechism / Other Materials
Don’t forget that there is Scrip available for St. Patrick’s Bookstore in the Northland Mall in Appleton. St. Patrick’s can help you with the purchase of both a bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. By using Scrip to pay for your purchase, 6% goes back to the parish. Scrip is available for purchase weekdays in the school office, after school in the parish office, Wednesday evenings in the Faith Formation office and in the narthex after masses on the weekend. If you don’t have Scrip with you when you are at St. Patrick’s, simply mention St. Mary’s Greenville and they will give a percentage to our youth ministry program.

Here’s the information on the materials for most studies:

 A bible!  RSV Catholic Edition

Suggested versions include the Revised Standard Version-Catholic Edition (ISBN 0898704901 hardcover, ISBN 089870491X paperback) and/or the New American Bible Study Version (0195282779)   Unfortunately the RSV does not have a study version. Please try to avoid the New Revised Standard Version, the Good News Bible, the Living Bible, the New World Translation, and the Life Applications Bible. If you have them, fine. However, I would not recommend purchasing them.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church

The CCC is a very valuable tool for study and will be frequently referred to during this study. The CCC is truly a “must have” for Catholics who are looking to grow in their understanding of our faith.

Then and Now Bible Maps

This is a suggested resource for bibilical studies. I can order this for you (ISBN 1932645179.)

 Notebook or Loose Leaf Paper

As mentioned above, I would strongly recommend having extra paper for note taking during the video presentations.
