Staff Bios

Father Mark Vander Steeg ext. 206

Father Mark Vander Steeg is Pastor of St. Mary’s. His home town is Green Bay Wisconsin. He is the youngest of ten children. He received his Bachelor’s in philosophy and psychology from Marquette University. Father Mark then studied for five years at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Italy with study at the Biblicum in Jerusalem. He received a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (S.T.L.) with a specialization in Biblical Theology. He is an associate member of the Catholic Biblical Association and teaches New Testament as adjunct faculty through Silver Lake College for the Diocesan Commissioned Ministry Leadership Formation Program.····

 

Deacon Dave DeYoung ext. 201

Deacon David DeYoung is the deacon at St. Mary’s. He is the father of eight children. He has served as an ordained deacon for nearly twenty years and works closely with Father Mark. He and his wife along with Father Mark are responsible for the marriage preparation of our engaged couples. Deacon DeYoung preaches the Gospel at Mass every fourth Sunday of the month. He is profoundly pro-life and active in outreach to the unborn, their families and those who have suffered the pain of abortion. His wife Carol serves on the Pastoral Council and is also actively pro-life.

 

Chris Wert ext. 210

Chris is serving St. Mary’s in a variety of capacities. Chris is the·director for our parish chapter of Elizabeth Ministry, she leads our Tuesday morning Women’s Bible Study, she is active with our Stewardship and Welcoming Committees, and she assists Father Mark and Deacon Dave with Pastoral Ministries. Chris edits our parish newsletter, prepares the Mass announcments each week and helps with the bulletin content and layout. Her passion is encouraging others to deepen their faith and relationship with Christ by helping them to grow in knowledge, faith and grace. Chris recently completed her master’s degree in Pastoral Theology through Ave Maria University. She is married with three children.

 

Tammy Krueger ext. 205

Tammy Krueger hails from our sister town of Hortonville where she still resides. She has an Associates degree in Banking & Financial studies. She also has completed the Commissioned Minsitry Leadership Formation Program through the Diocese of Green Bay. Her areas of study were Church Management and Liturgy. Among her many duties, Tammy compiles the bulletin each week, tracks all sacramental records and tries to keep tabs on our pastor.

 

Justin Carrick ext. 200

Justin is from Australia. He moved to the US in mid-November 2009. He married his wife, Gretchen, on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Dec. 12th) 2009. After several years of management in high school ministry, he obtained a Bachelor of Business (majoring in accounting) from Edith Cowan University, in Perth, Western Australia. Justin has a variety of experiences, including real estate, stockbroking, political lobbying, international aid work and bookkeeping. His interests include geography, history, sports and most of all, spending quality time with his wife.
